About this time last year, the Heard-Craig Center hosted DFW artist Carolyn Skei for a celebration of collage artistry. Known nationally for her mixed-media expertise, Ms. Skei provided education and guidance to a Carriage House full of people as they each created a 3-D garden. The garden collage featured each person's family among the effects of paper, canvas, paint, and wire.
After retiring from California State University-Fresno, Ms. Skei worked as a a writer for the Dallas Arboretum. Most recently, she was the editor of Neil Sperry's book, Lone Star Gardening and also edited his Gardens Magazine. Her workshop at the Heard-Craig included a post-workshop lunch and an open studio in the afternoon.
